By the time Selection Sunday arrives, there will have been plenty of movement in the projected field of 68 for the 2026 NCAA tournament regarding the teams that are in, as well as those looking to get in.
While our Tuesday and Friday Bracketology updates allow us to look at the race to March Madness holistically in a week, results every day matter and can affect teams — whether they’re playing or not.
Men’s Bracketologist Joe Lunardi is tracking every relevant game every night — and why shouldn’t you?
Here, we provide an inside look at the headlines and upcoming matchups that inform Joey Brackets’ calculations on any given night, as he projects the teams that could have their names called on Selection Sunday (March 15).
A couple of housekeeping things: This page will update every day around lunchtime, between Tuesday and Saturday to start — with a few exceptions. Games are listed in order of importance to the bracket changes. A team’s projection on that day is listed in parentheses if not otherwise noted.

TOP HEADLINES
-
State of the top seeds: Having played to a near-analytical tie, Michigan (No. 3 overall, 1-seed) and Nebraska (No. 5 overall, 2-seed) maintained their previous positions on the seed list.
-
Around the bubble: Indiana‘s win over Purdue was significant enough to lift the Hoosiers into the field over prior “Last Team In” Virginia Tech; the Hokies did also win, defeating Georgia Tech, but that win is not the same as beating a ranked opponent. There was overall movement last night in all four Bubble categories. With 10 of the 16 teams playing tonight, expect more of the same.
-
Miami (OH) report: The RedHawks improved to 21-0, but it was another narrow escape; their slight drop from 45 to 46 on the seed list puts them one slot below the at-large cut line.
GAMES THAT COULD AFFECT THE BRACKET
-
(Last Four In) Texas at (7) Auburn. Can Texas get off (and stay off) the at-large rollercoaster? Tonight will play a part. 7 p.m., ESPN
-
(Next Four Out) Stanford at (Last Four In) Miami: Sneaky big game for both, as they jockey for Bubble positioning. 9 p.m., ACCN
-
(3) Houston at (First Four Out) TCU. Perhaps the best remaining opportunity for TCU to make an at-large push. 9 p.m., ESPN2
-
(6) Tennessee at (8) Georgia. Significant seeding implications for two teams playing .500 ball of late. 7 p.m., SEC Network
-
(Next Four Out) California at Florida State: Golden Bears are relevant for the first time in forever, so every game matters. 7 p.m., ACCN
-
Xavier at (First Four Out) Seton Hall. A four-game losing streak has dropped Pirates from the field. Can they regroup? 7:30 p.m., Peacock
-
San Francisco at (First Four Out) Santa Clara. The WCC can think seriously about three bids if Santa Clara wins. 11 p.m., CBSSN
