Cheryl will soon be joining as a coach on The Voice UK!
The 43-year-old pop star, who previously appeared on The X Factor, is being lined up as a coach on The Voice UK, ITV’s long-running singing competition.
A source told The Sun newspaper, “Every year producers ask Cheryl to go on the show, and it’s a polite ‘no’ as the timing has never quite been right.”
“This year it’s different. She feels ready to re-enter the spotlight and talks are now in the final stages,” they added.
Cheryl, who shot to stardom as a member of Girls Aloud, the chart-topping girl group, has yet to put pen to paper on a contract.
However, ITV bosses remain hopeful of securing her services, believing that Will.i.am’s presence could sway her decision.
The insider shared, “Things could come crashing down but with three weeks to go until filming kicks off, the production team is working on the assumption she will be doing it. It helps that long-term friend will.i.am will be beside her on the panel.”
Earlier this month, a source claimed that The Voice UK is set for a “revolution.”
The source told The Sun newspaper, “This is a bit of a revolution for The Voice, which has pretty much remained unchanged since it launched in the UK in 2012. The rewind element will see the judges given the power to perform a U-turn on a previous decision to pass over a performer.”
“It means they can reflect, then add them to their team, which will certainly keep the singers on their toes,” the insider further mentioned.
Kelly Rowland joined The Voice‘s panel in 2025, and the former Destiny’s Child star revealed that she was excited by the opportunity.
Kelly, who previously appeared as a judge on the UK version of The X Factor, said at the time: “I am excited to join The Voice UK as a coach, and am looking forward to working with the excellent and passionate coaches the show is known for.”
