Trust Sonam Kapoor to always keep it stylish, even on her baby shower! For her event on Sunday, Sonam Kapoor kept things intimate and elegant and very much in tune with her personal maternity style that has us in a chokehold. Hosted at her residence, the gathering brought together close friends, family and a carefully chosen circle from the film and fashion worlds.
Expecting her second child with Anand Ahuja, Sonam wore a soft lime-green lehenga paired with a matching cape. The lehenga featured delicate floral embroidery, while the cape added fluidity and ease, and was draped over her shoulders.
As has been her choice this entire season, instead of heavy pleats or rigid layers, Sonam chose to keep the silhouette relaxed and unforced. She coupled the lehenga with a choli blouse that adorned by similar embroidery and chose to wear the dupatta in a pallu style.
Her styling stayed minimal but gorgeous. Her lush hair was kept in a sleek bun, and she also wore a small red bindi. But it was the massive gold necklace and earrings that took the cake. Tying the look together were stacked bangles, multiple rings and a red lip.
The guest list included the who’s who of Bollywood. Kareena Kapoor Khan arrived in a blue-and-white suit detailed with gota patti work, styling it with a neat bun, jhumkas and a bindi. Khushi Kapoor chose a white-and-yellow saree, wearing her hair loose and accessorising with a pearl choker and matching earrings. Also in attendance were Bhumi Pednekar Shabana Azmi, Masaba Gupta in addition to her Kapoor family represented by Anil Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, among others.
Sonam and Anand, who married in 2018, welcomed their first child, Vayu, in 2022. When Sonam announced her second pregnancy in November 2025 with a Princess Diana–inspired pink look, it quickly went viral. Her god bharai however, saw her opt for an indianwear that we’re sure will set the tone for millions of her followers.
