‘Digger’ starring Tom Cruise drops first teaser

After doing impossible missions, Tom Cruise picks up a shovel and dances as the first teaser of his forthcoming movie Digger shows.

Though the clip is short, it’s enough to hype the megastar’s fans as he unveils the film’s title on social media, which is directed by Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

Along with helming, the filmmaker also co-wrote the upcoming movie, which is billed as a “Comedy of Catastrophic Proportions.”

Tom plays the titular character, Digger Rockwell, alongside Sandra Huller, Riz Ahmed, Jesse Plemons, Michael Stuhlbarg, John Goodman, Emma D’Arcy, and Sophie Wilde.

Previously, Alejandro at Cannes offered an insight into the “brutal comedy,” stating, “All I can say is it is a brutal, wild comedy of catastrophic proportions. It’s insane. It’s scary and funny and beautiful. I know comedy is not what people expect from me, or Tom, and making this film was terrifying for me.”

He continued, “But I don’t like to repeat myself, and every film should scare you a little. I felt Birdman was a comedy, a dark comedy, and this one was challenging like that. And Tom makes me laugh every single day. He has this total commitment, this total madness.”

Its logline read, “The most powerful man in the world racing to prove he can save humanity before the destruction he unleashes destroys everything.”

Digger debuts in cinemas on Oct 2, 2026.
