The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) opened weak amid fragile sentiment on Monday, with selling pressure across key sectors keeping the benchmark index under pressure before it recovered to trade marginally higher.
The benchmark KSE-100 index was trading at 166,453.27 points, up 33.56 points, or 0.02%, from the previous close of 166,419.71 points.
Selling was observed in key sectors, including automobile assemblers, cement, commercial banks, oil and gas exploration companies and oil marketing companies, limiting the market’s ability to sustain an upward move.

The index touched an intraday high of 166,698.46 points and a low of 165,918.34 points, indicating a volatile session as investors weighed buying opportunities against continued selling pressure.
Trading volume stood at 68.99 million shares, while the traded value reached Rs4.66 billion, according to the market highlights.
Despite recovering from its intraday low, the benchmark remained close to the previous session’s closing level, reflecting cautious investor sentiment as selling across major sectors offset gains elsewhere.
